Dispatches from the Dye Garden: Everything Is Fine. Nothing Is Fine.

An occasionally unhinged update from the world of Hippie Kissed.

Apparently, fall has arrived.

I don't remember inviting it. But here we are.

There is currently a giant dead tree branch hanging over my Dye Garden like the freaking Sword of Damocles. And not the kind of branch you can casually knock down with a broom. The kind that requires a professional, a truck with a giant ladder, probably some expensive equipment, and money I do not currently have.

Meanwhile, winter is another looming problem.

I've got less than a month to bring everybody inside, and the more delicate little divas need to come in within two weeks. Is the house ready? Absolutely not. Do I have a plan? Technically. Does that plan involve rearranging half the house and pretending there are more windows than actually exist? You bet your ass.

In other news, I did my nails yesterday.

They were adorable.

For approximately two hours.

This is why we can't have nice things. Or at least why we can't have nice things while simultaneously running a dye business, sewing patches onto flannels, and doing whatever other nonsense I decided was a good idea.

Speaking of flannels, I'm currently in a race against the clock to finish my latest batch of upcycled beauties before the next vendor event. They're coming along, and I'm genuinely excited about them, but every single one seems to have its own opinion about how much time it should take.

And because the universe has a sense of humor, Etsy has decided to join the festivities.

After nearly twenty years on the platform, I'm currently trying to complete their [newest] required identity verification. Unfortunately, the page where I'm supposed to upload my driver's license has apparently entered an alternate dimension where loading screens spin forever.

My shop is suspended. My money is being held hostage. And I'm being told it could take two weeks to get a response to my appeal.

Which is especially delightful considering I have an event fee to pay.

So that's where things stand at Hippie Kissed this week.

The trees are threatening me. The plants are demanding housing. My manicure has left the chat. The sewing machine is getting a workout. And Etsy and I are no longer on speaking terms.

But the flannels are going to be fabulous.

Probably.

Assuming the tree doesn't kill us all first.

Stay weird. Make stuff. (And maybe don't stand under the tree in the Dye Garden.)
